Newtown Vigil

With heavy hearts and hand to hand we join together at the Church of Eternal Light; 10:00 AM, Sunday, December 16th, 2012. United as one church, one power, and one family; all are welcome. With light and love we will direct our energies to the families of Newtown. As below, so above.

Thank You,

A Message from the Pastor

All are welcome to our little church if coming with an open mind and heart. Our community is family; our church is home to a vast and varied group of people who come together to worship the Lord and Lady in their house. Put aside your troubles and worries and join us in our worship, classes and celebrations for 3 hours on Sunday. It can heal your heart and soul and prepare you for the week ahead. We would Love to see you!

Blessed Be in their many names!

Update Regarding Church Website

For the past 2 days I have been feverishly modifying and managing the church website in preparation for public use. Most of these things you will not notice, others will be blatantly obvious. Some of the major noticeable changes include the following:

First and foremost, the church’s forum was removed. This was done for a few reasons, the first being “lack of use”, and the second, more important being that it was being spammed by over 4,000 bots.

Second, we will now be using Google’s calendar system. This has many benefits for most people and we feel it’s a better suited notification system than the previous (being the yahoo group). This calendar will allow the people more choices for how they wish to know about up-coming events, including:

  1. The website has both a widget (on the right hand side) for viewing an easy-to-read list of the next 4 events due to happen at the church, and a fully viewable calendar on a secondary page.
  2. Signing up for a google account will allow you to watch the calendar and select how and when you’d like to be notified of up-coming events in your email or even via cellphone text messages (obviously, your cellphone company’s text messaging rates apply unless you have unlimited).
  3. For you “techies”, most of the modern smart phones have some sort of calendar integration, if you already use google calendar on your phone, simply by adding the church’s calendar to your watch list, you will find all the church services synced to your phone.

Over the next few days, all the other bits of information will be added to their respective pages including the contact information for the church and the church’s history. We understand that some of these changes may be overwhelming for some of you and we will try to help you in any way that we can. All technical questions regarding the website itself, may be directed at myself (Aaron), or Scott Radcliffe on Sunday’s before church, or via the “Contact Admin” option on this website.

Thank You, Your CEL Web Team.
